We wanted to get down and dirty with LG's
other touchscreen phone -- the
KU990 (AKA the Viewty) -- a 5.1-megapixel cameraphone that also does Flash, but the company's staff would barely even let us get close. It's true: the German showgirls and Japanese press handlers were less than forthcoming with the goods, but after a round of strong drinks and some serious sweet talking, we got to demo some of the phone's functions -- though there appeared to be a lot more lurking beneath the surface. Check the gallery for some "hands-on" action, and feel free to write letters suggesting LG's people to lighten up.

Right, LG is obviously a Japanese company? That's why they have Japanese press handlers in Germany. Whereas Samsung, which is based in Japan, not Korea, must have Korean press handlers instead.

Um... I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not, but to state the facts: LG and Samsung are both Korean companies. Korea and the US are the largest CDMA countries in the world, which is why you see most Verizon and Sprint phones have Korean manufacturers.

yes i was being sarcastic, i wonder why engadgetmobile still hasn't corrected it.
I said it because a lot of Americans thought that LG and Nokia were American companies. That's from a market research concerning the most recognized brands in America the the knowledge of their origin..
