More BlackBerry 8830 details
Just when we're down in the dumps about our 'Berry, here's some good news that should brighten up the day. New intel suggests that Verizon is planning to release the BlackBerry 8830 (aka Cyclone) on May 14 for the business channel and May 29 for consumers. A couple other bits of information as well: there's support for microSD cards up to the standard 2GB, and the media player supposedly supports -- get this -- iTunes music. Check out an additional pic (fuzzy, but helpful, we promise) after the break.[Thanks, HTC Kid]

Wow, iTune, this is the best Blackberry ever. But what I really want is a touch screen. Please make it available on 8900.

Interesting device indeed. Reminds me of an imate smartphone. iTunes is a nice touch.

I think it'd be pretty great if the HTC Kid actually had some news about an HTC product...we've haven't heard anything from him on anything HTC in quite some time.

Block Head @ Apr 19th 2007 12:07PM

VZWguy @ Apr 19th 2007 12:21PM
the other phones on that list are not as appealing as you think...I've seen it.
the blackberry is definatley the best of the bunch...well unless you like the 6800 I guess.
kristin @ Apr 19th 2007 12:26PM

Bryan @ Apr 19th 2007 12:26PM
Anyone know about the 8100 coming out for Verizon? I'm starting to think that it got mistaken for the 8830 with all the previous rumors....

HTC Kid @ Apr 19th 2007 4:44PM
just a comparison if the 8830 to the other Blackberry devices that Verizon Wireless offers. Nothing too special
HTC Kid @ Apr 19th 2007 4:46PM
Libra aka 5800 is hopefully May. Same as this puppy. AOL email always worked on the blackberry devices. And c'mon look up the 6800 i gave all kinds of info on that months back. :-)
tOMPSON @ Apr 19th 2007 5:54PM
Wow, this would be my personal "perfect device" ;-)

anyone know the price(with a contract)? how about ringtone support with the media player? and i thought the pearl camera was going to be included?
vick @ Apr 24th 2007 12:00AM
Anyone have a price? Also is AIM easy to install on the Blackberry? Will be coming from a Motorola Q.
Ptony101 @ Apr 25th 2007 10:38AM
According to today's WSJ, it will be $299 (after $100 rebate) with 2 yr contract. Sales start May 14 on-line and May 28 in stores. It will be silver colored and includes a "media player".
general @ Apr 25th 2007 12:55PM
thanks for the price info. thats about what i expected
to #20 vick:
i was understanding that only t-mobile blackberry's come with aim installed on it. to get aim on on bb's for other services, you need to use a third party app. the "best" that i've used is called "yak-on", and its almost impossible to use. i actually stopped using it. coming from my sidekick2 to a blackberry on sprint, this was a huge disappointment. hopefully something else is in the works for the 8830, cause its looks incredible
